Joyce Fay Smith

Joyce Fay Smith, age 90, of Hemphill, Texas, passed from this world on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at HCA Houston Healthcare Hospital in Conroe, Texas.

Joyce was born November 3, 1933, in Newton County, Texas, to Everett Smith and Ellie Edgar Smith and graduated from Hemphill High School in 1951. After graduating she moved from Sabine County, returning in 2022 to be near her family.

Joyce is survived by her brothers and sister-in-law, Glyn and Virginia Smith of Yellowpine, Texas, Weldon and Jo Ann Smith of League City, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Eyvonne and William Reece of Port Lavaca, Texas; and sister-in-law, Sue Nell Smith.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Nobles; daughter, Sheila Nobles Anderson; brothers, Bobby Smith and Lyndell Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Sue and Jamie Heisler; and her parents.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Yellowpine Macedonia Baptist Church, located at the intersection of FM 2343 and Hwy. 87 in Yellowpine (125 Scrappin Valley Road), with Bro. T.A. Lane officiating. Inurnment will be at Yellowpine Cemetery.
